(Menu can be found at the bottom of the page)

Here at Woodcrest State College P&C Association we are striving to become an innovative canteen, offering our students and staff a comprehensive menu, while delivering healthy and exciting options.

Red Food Days are a great way for us to offer some fun treats and are a lot for fun for our school community. Running these offer a great way for the canteens to raise money for equipment. We endeavor to offer four Red Food Days a year in both sub-schools.

To view some of our food and events follow the link to our gallery at the bottom of the page.

Primary Canteen

In 2020 we had great success with our new menu focusing on home-style, in-house cooked, healthy, great tasting food and snacks.

In 2021 we will be offering the same great food with some added extras to keep even the pickiest eater happy as well as adding options for dietary requirements.

We are moving towards all online ordering for food items. Drinks, Icy treats, chips and some snacks will still be available to purchase during first break over the counter.  No service will be offered second break, over the counter or online.

To create an account click ‘ONLINEORDERS’ .

When icy treats are ordered online, there will be a laminated picture of the item stapled onto the lunch bag. Students are to bring this to the canteen to claim the item. Prep students have all their orders, including their icy treats, delivered to the classroom.

Secondary Canteen

The Secondary canteen offers a walk through service where customers select their pre-made items and pay at the end. Food is prepared fresh each day. The items and amount staff make is dependent on a number of factors. This is where online orders are great so students do not miss out.

As with the primary canteen, we offer great tasting home-style in-house cooked meals and snacks as well as healthy burgers, sandwiches, wraps, rolls, salads and a number of other great options. These selections will increase in 2021.

To guarantee that customers are able to purchase the items they would like, we recommend they create a Monitor account and place online orders. To create an online order account click ‘ONLINEORDERS’ .  Ordering online also allows students to jump the queue to pick up their orders from the roller door. If the door isn’t open they can go directly to the table at the back of the canteen to collect.

We are also heading towards a cashless canteen so if students are able to place online orders, bring a debit card or have a payment method on their phones it will help us achieve this goal. There are a number of banks and other companies that offer safe services for children to have their own card if this choice is right for your circumstances.

Both the Primary and Secondary canteens are always in need of volunteers to help with our growing customer base. No experience is needed as our friendly staff are also available to guide you and help with any questions you may have.

If you are available to volunteer one hour, one day, half a day, one day per term, one day a year or only a few hours a year, we would still love for you to come in for some social chat and fun.

Some of the activities available are, but not limited to;

  • Sticking labels on lunch bags
  • Baking our in- house snacks
  • Packing lunch bags
  • Cleaning
  • Cooking/ preparing food orders
  • Serving students and staff

You can chose what you would like to do while you are having fun with us.

Both canteens are always in need of student volunteers to help with handing out items during both first and second breaks. This is a great opportunity for any student to gain some on the job training, help their school community and add a Certificate of Appreciation to their CV for the future. All students that volunteer receive a small voucher that they can use at the time or save up to use all at once. Students who attend 15 times or more will receive a certificate.

If you or your student would like to find out more about this opportunity, please ask them to see our friendly staff in their sub-school canteen.

Woodcrest State College P&C believe in offering students a pathway to their future by offering school based traineeships. If you know a student who may be interested in these opportunities please ask them to enquire with the schools pathways liaison or the retail manager in the secondary canteen.
